阿莫斯·奥兹，1939年生于耶路撒冷。希伯来大学文学与哲学学士，牛津大学硕士和特拉维夫大学名誉博士，本·古里安大学希伯来文学系教授。著有《何去何从》、《我的米海尔》、《了解女人》等十余部长篇小说和多种中短篇小说集、杂文随笔集、儿童文学作品等。他的作品被翻译成三十余种语言并获多项重大文学奖，包括“费米娜奖”、“歌德文化奖”、“以色列奖”和2007年度的“阿斯图里亚斯亲王奖”。奥兹不仅是当今以色列最优秀的作家、国际上最有影响的希伯来语作家，也是一位受人敬重的政治评论家。
